I like to say I’ve been involved in social media for over 20 years. I make that claim based on my early immersion in the late 1980s in online bulletin boards, UseNet groups and similar. My primary learning centre though was CIX (Compulink Information Exchange). It was here that I learnt what to do (and not to do) in an online social space. So I spotted early on the potential in things like LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook based on my CIX experience.
I’ve been providing dedicated social media consultancy for clients since 2006.
I sometimes get asked by the BBC to comment on social media related matters. Or media outlets like Reuters.
And I provide social media workshops and webinars for both the CIPR and the PRCA.
I’m also on the CIPR’s Social Media Panel.
